Our Board of Directors set priorities for TeamConnor annually and oversees the execution of the plan to achieve the best results for building visibility for childhood cancer and raising funds for research.  These are dedicated professionals who believe they can make a difference in this battle to find a cure for childhood cancer by offering their talent and resources for the cause.

Amy K. Pass, MD
Director of Grants and Giving

Dr. Amy Pass is a pediatrician with Greater North Texas Pediatrics.  She previously worked at Children's Medical Center in Dallas as a pediatric oncologist.  Dr. Pass is the Medical Director of Lifesteps Pediatric Rehabilitation Center in Lewisville, TX and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Carolyn Alvey
Board President

Carolyn Alvey is  Vice President of Public Relations for Aardvark Communications, Inc.  With more than 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing and social media, Carolyn has been on TeamConnor's Board of Directors since the organization's inception.

Chris Vogeli
Board Member

Chef Chris Vogeli received his culinary degree at El Centro College.  He spent three years in Switzerland honing his skills with positions in Zurich, St. Moritz and Locarno.  After returning to the U.S., Vogeli joined a team of chefs to compete internationally in a banqueting competition.  Winning back-to-back international titles, Vogeli captained the team to a third consecutive title, a feat not accomplished by an American team in more than 40 years.

Christie Warrick
Past President

Christie Warrick is the Chief Operating Officer for Northwestern Mutual - Dallas.  Christie has helped with the creation of TeamConnor and leads the organization's efforts to be at the forefront of childhood cancer awareness.  As the aunt of Connor Cruse, Christie has made it her mission to fight for more awareness and funding of childhood cancer research.

Craig Jones
Director of Community Relations

Throughout Craig Jones' 25 year career in commercial real estate, he has been involved in virtually every aspect of real estate brokerage and development. Prior to joining Partners National he was a former development partner for MSDW Realty Partners, a regional real estate services company.  After the passage of the Telecom Act of 1996 he was heavily involved in designing and developing the “Smart Park” concept for data centers and colocation facilities. Craig uses his development experience and solid understanding of the technical issues involved in mission critical facilities to advise his clients on every aspect of a transaction. Craig has represented corporate real estate clients throughout his career, completing transactions throughout North America and internationally. Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Banking and Finance from the University of Arkansas.  He is married and has four children.
Derrick Shelby
Board Member

Derrick Shelby is the Director of Training and Educations Services at Timberhorn IT Solutions in Frisco, TX.  Shelby has more than 11 years experience in providing IT training and continuing education, including roles with many Fortune 500 companies.  In addition, he also coaches an 8th grade boys basketball team at Prestonwood Christian Academy and the AAU Team, The Texas Titans.

Jack Shaw
Board Adviser

Jack Shaw is a graduate of Howard Payne University.  He also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Jack founded Network Consulting Services in 1976, now known as BEST Leadership Group, to provide conferences, business and management consulting, personal coaching and counseling to develop BEST Leaders with Integrity.  He has served as president of BEST Leadership Group for over thirty years.

Jack has been the key catalyst in the development of Total BEST for Life’s Success, a strategy used to develop the disciplines of Balance – Excellence – Service – Truth.  He is an international motivational speaker, and has authored two books.

Joy Cruse

Joy is a published author, professional speaker, and loving mother to five bright and active children.  The mother of Connor Cruse and founder of TeamConnor Childhood Cancer Foundation, Joy inspires families across the globe to continue the fight to eradicate childhood cancer.  Joy works diligently with doctors, families, donors, sponsors, partners, and event organizers in a tireless effort to help fund and find a cure for childhood cancers.

Kris Hasson
Director of Community Affairs

Kris Hasson is currently with The Beck Group in Dallas and working towards her certification as a LEED Green Associate.  She has been an active volunteer with the Carson Leslie Foundation, the DFW Metro Golden Retriever Rescue and is active at St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Kris brings her expertise in event planning and fundraising to help TeamConnor and childhood cancer.

Leanna Marchand
Vice President

Leanna Marchand is a registered nurse and an attorney. She has worked in the medico-legal field for twenty years.

Beginning in 1990, Mrs. Marchand worked as a paralegal and office manager at McColl & McColloch, a nationally known white-collar criminal defense firm in Dallas, Texas, where she participated in the preparation and trial of more than 20 criminal cases in both state and federal court. While working full time at McColl & McColloch, Mrs. Marchand was also a full time nursing student at Texas Women's University, where she received her B.S.N. degree in 1993. After graduating from nursing school, and while still working full time at McColl & McColloch, Mrs. Marchand began pursuit of a law degree at Southern Methodist University School of Law. While still in law school she was recruited by Melvin D. Morgan, M.D., J.D., a founding partner of the nationally known firm of Morgan & Weisbrod. In 1996 Mrs. Marchand received her law degree, with honors, from Southern Methodist University. 

Mrs. Marchand worked in the area of medical malpractice for Morgan & Weisbrod first as a law clerk, then as an associate attorney, then as a junior partner with the firm. In 2002 she co-founded SMITH & MARCHAND, L.L.P., which became Marchand & Rossi, L.L.P. She has experience in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, including trials.
Ray Jordan

Ray Jordan is a CPA and an estate and business planning attorney with over thirty-five years of experience.  He is the founding partner of the law firm, Jordan Flournoy, LLP, which has offices in Dallas and Frisco.  He brings his knowledge in tax, accounting, and law to TeamConnor.  Ray is also active with his church, Munger Place.
